Hi guys
I'm setting up the display case to display my pre 1960 S&Ws and I'm undecided on how to display them, I love the originality of the revolver but there are additional components to display together such as grips, holsters or ammo boxes that are equally beautiful and fascinating, give me your opinion, for example would you mount the grips afermarket or would you display them near the revolver?
Below are some photos of the 38/44 OUTDOORSMAN serial number 48889.
I'm really undecided on how to display it, original (BEAUTIFUL) M.O.P. (FEATURE) Stag (FASCINATING)

I used to do military displays before I got handicapped. I think my best displays had all the accoutrements for the displayed guns. Period, correct ammo was a big deal. Some ammo for your fine revolvers is very expensive and hard to find. I still collect early S&W's and the ammo for it. Big Larry

I'm a big believer in period correct accessories! That can be really tough with ammo boxes since the printing changed often. Good Luck.
I randomly chose the Outdoorsman but it could have been any other revolver I have.
In fact this box of cartridges will not be included with this revolver, the photos are only examples, the question is whether to display the revolver alone and in its original configuration and/or with the accessories near or fitted on. Maybe my english is not really clear in my explanations.

Assuming you don't have similar bells and whistles for each gun, I'm inclined to display the guns as the guns. The sundry extras can be displayed alongside each gun----if you have such for each gun, or as a separate display all their own---------preferably the latter.

You can change the display at any time for any reason----or no reason.

I vote for display wearing the factory grips, just like it left the factory. The other grips, ammo and so forth are the supporting cast foer the star of the show. Your english is fine.

I concur with Fullmetaljacket...original stocks on the gun, and accessories (additional stocks, ammo, holsters, etc.) staged around the revolver. Buona fortuna, Marcello.
