This N-Frameitis Virus has me going towards the Poor House!! Just got back from getting a Mint M57 and get a chance to purchase a 98% Long-Legged Pre-27 born in 1953!! What should I give for this revolver??

PackN: You've heard the old staple, "Depends?" Barrel length, stocks, NIB or just nice; is it a .357 Transitional Postwar, or a Model of 1950 (Pre-M.27)? Region (where in the world you are) also has an impact. SCSW notes that a Model of 1950 (which sounds like yours) goes for about $850.00. I suspect that is about right; I got one cheaper a few years ago (1954 vintage 5") but then had to spend money on it that raised the price. I suspect if you can find one for under $700.00 it would be a steal out here on the West Coast. I suspect some of the other guys will chip in, too! Good luck; they are nice guns, and don't feel like the Lone Ranger on the N-Frameitis. It has reached epidemic proportions at my house!

I bought one, 1954, 6 1/2 bbl. 98% or whatever, unfired, I believe, no box or dox, for $900, three or four years ago. Sold it for around $1200 earlier this, or late last, year.

PackN, I'm thinking you are in the $1200-$1500 range for the gun you mention depending on things like whether or not it has accessories and how prices run in Florida. Last year I paid $2K for the one in this link; it is about as close to 100 percent as you can get for half-century old gun that has been appreciatively handled by half a dozen people and a few of their friends. I am pretty sure it has been unfired since leaving the factory, but can't swear to that. If it was fired, the shooter cleaned it up really well.

Mine has the original box, stocks are numbered to the gun, and the previous owner had lettered it; the letter was part of the package. The price I paid also includes the geographical premium you pay for living in California -- Southern California in particular. Alas, no tools or original printed material.

I've got to rephotograph that gun now that I'm more familiar with the camera I prefer. Maybe this weekend. I'll edit the original posts to get new links up.

No set price. This gentleman is selling most of his collection since his Retirement egg has cracked. Unfortunately he sold this revolver yesterday but had a Minty Pre-25 5 Screw in .45 ACP I picked up today for 6 Bones!! Thanks for all the info and fellowship guys!!

Six??? You should be ashamed of yourself for taking advantage of an old Coot (or is he just a Codger?) whose retirement is all but gone!

The last nice pre-25 five-screw that I saw out here on the Left Coast sold for over a grand; they are out there, but getting hard to find. 5" barrels bring a premium, of course. Lucky dog!
