Received my letter on my Pre model 29 five screw with 4" barrel. Serial number S161592 was shipped February 21,1957 to Camfour Inc in Springfield, Mass. In the black case the gun came in I received two documents. The first dated 20 October 1944 from the Director of Civilian Marksmanship allows the purchase and wearing of a small bore rife badge. The second dated 1935 is from The United States Revolver Association and is an appointment as the Association Governor's Deputy. Both documents are directed to Mr. Murray Kliman of Braintree, Mass. Ain't that COOL!!
I'm guessing Mr. Kliman may have been the original owner of this fine revolver but that is just a guess on my part. I purchased the gun in around 2003 from a small shop in Mass. where the owner was more a collector than a gun seller. The store owner had had the gun for years and the only reason I was able to purchase it was because he died and there was an estate sale.

Bay State Arms a little West of Framingham.

Ah, formerly owned by Bob Vanni one of the founders of the Gun Owners Action League. I shopped that sale and picked up a 1951 USRA Trophy Gun presented by the Springfield Revolver Club and won by a shooter from the Hopedale Gun Club.

Bob was a good guy and the shop was one of those old and dusty crusty shops where treasures could be found in a box on the floor tucked in a corner. The only negative was a rumor that he liked to play inside guns and had no issues swapping parts around. :(
