i was hoping to find out a shipping date for my pre-29.i have a 4 screw with the 4 in. barrell,serial # S 176673.I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT HOW MANY 4 SCREW,4 IN. PRE-29'S WERE MADE AND SHIPPED.THANKS CURT.

Welcome to the forum.
Your gun more than likely shipped in 1957 or early 58. I am not going speculate on how many were made, but the in a 1 or 2 year span the counted the 4 screw pre models and model marked guns there was about as many of each made. Lets say total 4 screw production was about 6000 and split about 50/50
