I have a 5 screw snow s167xxx.in the blue black box looks to be about 90%. How do you tell if it's been factory reblued

Take off the stocks and look at the left side of the grip frame. If factory reblued there should be a date stamp of when it was returned (such as 5.63 for May 1963) and a R-B stamp. There are some variations; a diamond stamp or perhaps a star; possibly stamps in the ejector shroud or by the SN on the butt. Pictures?

Look at the small pins at the front of the ejector shroud, back by the grips on the left side of the gun. They are normally rounded. If they are flat, it might indicate a refinish. Look for rounding of the sharp edges on the cylinder and look at the fit of the sideplate. Sometimes it's hard to tell, especially if it is a job well done

Sorry, just noted that you said "factory reblue" what i said is less likely to be true with factory work.

Depending when the refinish was done, if it was, the frame and other parts may be marked with a B followed by a diamond or an R-Bi inside of a rectangle, and a date (month and year stamped on the left side of the grip frame, for example, 2 60 would indicate the work was done in February 1960). If the Magnum was returned in the last twenty years there would probably be no markings indicating work was done.
