Hello, I picked up a (from what I know) a post war M&P 38sp snub nose. From what I see it's manufactured from 1948-1952? The s/n is C 127xxx does anyone know the year? As well I was wondering, since it's a K frame, will it handle +P ammo? I've heard some of the older model 10's will but from what I've read this may or may not? I wouldn't be feeding it a steady diet of them. Just wanted to know if it's possible? Also what standard pressure would you use for SD/HD? Thanks

Off the top of my head early 1950s M+P. The +P ammo is not loaded to unsafe pressure. It's a bit hotter than current "standard" ammo but that stuff is ridiculously weak and under powered.

My list shows several in the C123xxx to C127xxx range shipping in September, 1950. Yours would probably be close to that time frame, but always remember they did not ship in numerical order.

Thanks guys! It's not perfect has some "character" from what I was told it was a Detroit Cops back up/ off duty gun? I will post some pics later!

Grips are not correct, but I wouldn't worry about that.
About ammo...it should handle +P rounds, but they aren't necessary now. There are quite a few good personal defense rounds now that aren't rated as +P but I wouldn't want to get hit by one! :)

JCools, you didn't mention is was a ROUND BUTT! I just love those. Here'sone of mine with theri square butt bretheern.
