Pre-model 15

I am trying to date what appears to be a pre-model 15. It is a 5 screw, 4", K frame, .38 with a s/n of K288481. Thanks in advance.

Looks like late 1956.

Oops, it is a 4 screw if it matters.

Yes. With that serial number, it would have a 4 screw frame.
As stated, it was made in 1956, but it could have shipped in early 1957.
