Hi folks, there is a nice pre 24 on auction arms.I'm thinking the gun has been reblued with its bright finish. Didn't a 50s vintage pre model 24 have a matte blue
?
Lowhog, welcome to the forum, If you mean item 9553074, that's modern production in S&W's "classic" line. It has the modern style "classic" diamond grips and an internal lock.
If you were talking about a different item that I have not been able to find in the AA listings, the answer is that some postwar/pre-model-marked guns were satin finish, and some could be had with an optional high polish.
I trust Mark's (Jack-the-Dog) evaluation of the guns he sells! He provides the best photos of any dealer on the entire internet and I have purchased several Pre-War .38/44 Outdoorsman from him in the past. His photos are so good you get to see every little blemish in detail !
Anyone interested in that 1950 should contact him directly. He is very helpful !
