I purchased my first "in box like new" revolver. pre-model 29 s171xxx. i believe the grips are original small chip in the bottom. the box has some wear as well. what are pre model 29s going for?

Nice 4-Screw

Nice 4-screw .44 Magnum... some wear but in pretty nice condition. Stocks look to be correct Coke Bottle stocks- too bad they're damaged but that's often the case for .44 Magnum revolvers that are shot regularly. You could check with DWFAN or one of our other Forum stock repair experts to see about getting them repaired & refinished. The stocks alone will bring $400+. Box is original, and valuable (also probably ~$400), and we have Forum members that can repair the box, too. However, tools look to be much later. My 4-screw (s/n S177xxx) shipped in late 1957, so yours is earlier (early 1957?). I won't claim to be an expert, but the few 4-screw .44 Magnums I've seen sell lately around here, in similar condition, have been in the $1800-2000 range (with Coke Bottle stocks). Maybe a little more when they include the original box. Minty examples go $2400+. I'm sure that many of our more knowledgeable Members will be chiming in soon.
