I'm glad I located this forum. I am trying to sell some revolvers for my mom from my late father's collection. I think I have identified this one, but I want to make sure.

I think this is a pre model 36 (Chief's Special). The SN is 98xxx and based on the design changes (large trigger guard, curved cylinder release, screws that are left) I think this one was made around 1955 or 1956. I was told this revolver was purchased new in Colorado Springs in the 1950's.

If someone could confirm this information for me or straighten me out I would appreciate it. Also, if someone has an est. value it would also be appreciated.

Thanks.

It's rusty and cleaning it up will still have spots but we all like these. I'd pay around 250.

I'd keep it if I were you but if you really want to sell it, contact me offline.

Hi, and welcome! You seem to have all the details correct. I'd guess about $450 give or take, but as always I am interested to see what others think.
