Pre-Model 45 hammer help

The previous owner had jeweled the hammer and trigger on my pre-45 6 inch BPD revolver.
I ordered what I thought were to correct post war hammer and trigger from Numrich, they didn't have a picture of it.
The trigger is correct but the hammer has a much shorter thumb piece with a different profile. I was going to post this to ask Roy but decided to ask the membership at large. And hopefully James and a few of the guys with this gun will weigh in.

Is the hammer correct on this revolver? and what about the NOS hammer?

Ben,

You didn't give us a serial # to identify your gun's vintage to be able to tell you if the hammer is correct for it. But the jeweled hammer is the 1950 high speed hammer wide spur target style used until the mid 1950s on K22s and other target K frames, and probably is correct to your gun.

• Short throw hammer (speed hammer/speed lock) on fixed sight K frame .38s #S990184, 4/7/48; the narrow version.

The replacement hammer sent to you is a post mid 1950 hammer.

Serial number is C379454 it is a 6 inch pre-model 45 Boston Police marked (1 of 20) it was made in 1957 in .22 LR This was a training gun for BPD

Perhaps it may be better to have the original parts refinished? Or post a Wanted to Buy ad here.

My concern on that is are they the original parts? There is a place that I found from another thread who will do the reblue (taking off the polish) I think it was either $100 or $200 have to check again

I was looking for a target style speed hammer recently for my K32, and found a lot more of the rimfire hammers on e-bay than the centerfire hammers that I wanted. Prices were less than what it would cost to have your hammer properly re-casehardened. I also think that the new hammer you bought could be the correct hammer, as they were changing the style around the time your gun was made.

Not a reblue on the hammer and trigger, they were not blue originally. Re-casehardened. Big difference.
