Pre-Victory hammer block

Can the hammer block on a pre-war revolver be removed from the side plate?

I tried gently but it seems pressed in. Don't want to pry it off if it's not meant to be removed.

If I remember right, You have to drive it up towards the top of the plate and out of it's narrow dovetail slot that the lower end is sitting in.

It is staked in. NOTE the big dimple about 3/16 below the slot!
