I will be looking at a pre-war 3rd model 44 tomorrow. It is a 4-inch nickel finish gun, that's about all I know for now. My question is how many factory nickel guns of this model do the experts think were made?

Well I can't give you an exact number but the Majority of the 3rd models were shipped to Wolf & Klar of Fort Worth Texas, They supplied alot of the Southwest Lawmen and Cowboys with all sorts of Hanguns, Many were flashy and Nickle. I would actually say I have seen more nickle guns than Blue but then thats what I look for too. I have owned 5 Nickle ones for every Blue one. Nothing scientific about it. I would venture 40% were nickle but that is just a guess on my part.

hopefully someone else will give more accurate info
