That's a beauty. I love the 4" but many less made since they didn't start until 1936. My son and I hunted for one and found a 4" barrel for $28. Then remembered a 6 " for sale by an acquaintence that we passed up because of a bulged barrel and a lot of wear, but now we were interested and picked that up for $225.
Put the two together and Voila; a pre-war 4" kit gun shooter, and shoot it does!

Oh yeah, within a week he found one in Minn. just like yours, all original including silver med. grips, except it has the big klunky King sight up front. Should be here this week! We'll see about swapping sights. One to fondle and one to shoot. Best of both worlds.

That sure is a beautiful gun! I don't think I have ever seen one
of those at any of the gunshows, gunshops, or auctions I have ever
been to. I have a Model 34 4", but it is a 1960's model. Those pre-war
models must really be scarce. Hope I can find one as good as that one
sometime. You were really fortunate to be in the right place at the
right time. Congratulations!

What a rare beauty you have !
These 22/32 4" (Kit Gun) guns were only made from '35 to '41 but serial numbered in the 32 hand ejector range, along with the 22/32 Target (6" gun). Therefore difficult to say how many were made. Can't be too many because they are hard to find, ESPECIALLY as nice as yours. Don't know what you paid and too polite to ask, but the farther under $3500 that you paid, the better the deal!! The postwar kit gun counterpart to your gun(made from '46 to '52; prior to 1953 when the Mod of 1953 Kit Gun on the Improved I frame replaced it) are even more rare but still not worth as much ($2500 max.)as your prewar! May I ask for the 1st three digits of your serial number? Does it have the mainspring strain screw on the front grip strap?

The first three numbers are 531XXX and it does have a strain screw, and the round butt backstrap is "rebated" to accommodate the square butt grips, ala the Regulation Police.

Roy tells me it was shipped in November of 1938.

I have never seen a early post war kit gun at any show. Your $2500 max is
about right till you try to find one,there just not out there. I traded a friend
localy for mine he didn't like the sights.

That's a beauty alright. I quoted from Supica's SCS&W on the prices. Can you post a pic of the other side? Does the box have the original contents; cleaning implements and paperwork? If so can you post a pic?
