Pre-war N frame with 2" factory barrel! Link to range report added.

Tremendous job. I really love how your project turned out.

You may have inspired me. Now you have me thinking about doing something....

I can relate to your affliction. Your revolver has been superbly executed, my congratulations! Here's one of mine that was rescued from a kitchen table hacksaw artist, many years ago. Colt New Service .45 LC. 2 1/2 inch.
Cheers;

"I initially wanted a round butt too, but there isn't enough 'meat' in a pre-war N frame grip to make a round butt."

Must be some N frames, 'cause I roundbutted a 1917 S&W back a number of years ago.

Chris, very nice. It's good to see acceptable accuracy from such a compact revolver.

Inspired by your project, I did follow through on my inclination. Numrich will be shipping me one of those barrels and an unfluted steel cylinder in the next day or two.

Am I going to need to do something to the yoke to accommodate the shorter cylinder? I'm thinking about trying to put the new pieces on an old Brazilian frame.

I'm under no illusions about this. I suspect a lot of fitting and detail work will be necessary.

Hey , Chris. Well done I like it. Yes Kuhnhausens book is
invaluable to tinkerers like us.

Shoot it some more and enjoy it.

I am curious just how much the whole project cost , donor gun, barrel ,cylinder and parts.??

I always think " Fine minds think alike" when you post. Hmmm, wonder why?

Just got this one, $49. on gunbroke.

Total cost around $500

Allen,
Your parts stash looks like mine. :D I've got several rare parts just waiting for the right project, too.

I would place total parts cost including frame at about $500. That's less than half the going rate for a factory 625-10 (and I personally think it looks better). The hours I spent on it, well I can write off as experience, right?
