Pre25 box question...

I'm the current caretaker of an early (S143517 July '55) Pre25. I've done a search but haven't been able to find out what box or boxes were used to ship the first year. Were they 1950 .45 Target boxes that were over stamped? Was it too early for a wood presentation case? If anyone has a first year 1955 with its original box please post a photo. Thanks, Lee.

Thanks very much. I had a feeling it was probably a 1950 .45 Target either over stamped "1955" or just written over. Did you find out when yours was shipped? The SCSW is confusing on the beginning serial numbers.. It says they started around S150000 yet in the same paragraph it also says they began in the 143000s. No matter, again thanks for your help. Lee
