Precision holsters

anyone have any experience with precision holsters I mean have or used one just looking for comments being good or bad. I have m&p shield and will be getting my ccw in a week or so and was looking for a iwb holster and saw these holsters. Or if anyone can give me some advice on a good iwb holster that would be good to. So thanks for everyone's time.

I can't help you on your holster as I have never been able to comfortably carry my Shield IWB. It is so easy to conceal OWB that it is no problem. Don't rule out OWB.

The are a ton of custom holster manufacturers out there. Do you want a Kydex (molded plastic) or leather, not sure? You'll get all sorts of opinions on which is better. Will you use it just for carry or do you plan to try competition? What type of pistol do plan to carry, striker, hammer, etc.. Just a few of the considerations that may help steer you in the right direction.
I just bought a Bravo Concealment Kydex OWB (can be converted to IWB) and really like it but you may wait a while for a custom holster modeled to your specific gun model. BC quotes 4 - 6 weeks.

The sky's the limit on holsters, especially for something so popular as the Shield. I don't know the company you asked about, but I like my FOXX holsters and N82 Tactical for my Shield. Even though the Shield is tiny and light, you will still want a good gun belt. I know it sounds silly, and I didn't buy into for many years as I suffered through "how do people do this" questions/concerns with my cheap "Banana Republic" belt. Finally, I tried a real GUN belt ... my world was opened up. For versatility and reliability, try Wilderness Tactical. Something a little more classy and just as durable, try A&G Gunleather.

I have never heard of or seen this brand of holsters before and it appears it is a hybrid (leather/kydex combo) style holster like so many other ones out there. The three holes down the kydex have peaked my curiosity, I wonder what they're for...ventilation?

As motorsporting said, "The sky's the limit on holsters". There are literally thousands of "holster makers" out there...if you type "iwb holster" into google's search box you'll see what we mean!! I did this after my first holster's kydex cracked and found my current IWB holster searching this way.

I use a Safariland/Bianchi Model 135 everyday and really like it. I really like the mesh covered foam padding, it's comfortable against my hip and cool in the summer. It is "tuckable" if you should ever need to tuck your shirt in and the c-clips are very descrete too. I have one for my 40c and one for my Shield 40.

what do you have/like for OWB?

I have a Wright Leather Works "Predator". I have carried my Shield in this one for over 2 1/2 yrs and the fit and retention are still spot on. I have never seen better craftsmanship on any holster. With the proper gun belt, again a Wrights Bullhide, it will hold close to the body. I liked this one so well that I got one for my 640-1.

After a while, it will mold to your body. I wear it at about 3:30 - 4:00.

There's not enough difference in most kydex or hybrid holsters to worry about . I think Precision Holster makes a good rig , there just limited as to what they produce for so don't have one . Son-in-law has one and likes it !! There prices are right .

Garrett , Foxx , comp-tac , and may more make fine products too but know now you will end up with a small box of holsters over time . Ha !

If I wanted leather for a owb or IWB you can get a Mitch Rosen quickly from there Express line of holsters

Go to Nelson Holsters for a high quality rig , production or custom .

Precision Holsters is now all that I will carry. You asked about the M&P Shield and that is all that I will carry 15 hours a day with my Ultra Carry IWB at or about the 4 o'clock position. I have found that the hybrid (leather & kydex) combined make for the absolute best in comfort. My biggest gripe about kydex IWB holsters is sometimes the belt hook is just as wide as the holster itself. I use a Concealment Express. Good retention and narrow belt hook.
