Saw a notice on the ASSRA forum that Precision Shooting Magazine has ceased operations. Double checked their website and it's true. Damn fine magazine and I for one will be sorry not to get my copy each month. I was a subscriber since 1992 and have a huge pile of back issues. I think that the editor Dave Brennan and his staff did a magnificent job putting out this magazine each month and are to be commended. Regards, Frank

As a long time subscriber I will miss them a bunch. They were a no BS publication and quite frankly that most likely hurt them with the big advertisers{no inside knowledge, just a thought}. Also as a small business man myself , the ever rising costs brought on by the politicians and the economy can be and are heavy. My very best wishes and thanks to the fine staff of the magazine. Joe.

I was a long time subscriber until a few years ago. The quality of the articles went downhill. Just not enough interesting content to keep paying premium scription rates.

In my opinion, the best rags out there now for the accurate rifle and handgun crowd is Handloader and Rifle magazines.

I, too, subscribed for years. The price of the subscription was very high, but, at least initially, I thought it was worth the price.

I was very involved in rifle shooting and I thought I gained a lot of knowledge from the articles.

Then, almost overnight it seemed, the quality of the articles plummeted. I continued to subscribe for two more years, then stopped.

I am willing to pay, and even to pay top dollar, but the thing or product I am paying top dollar for must be, itself, top shelf.

No loss IMO.

That's too bad. I'm a current subscriber and haven't heard anything about them going under, but they were having a big sale on their books and such. I found the magazine very informative, but some articles became too "lost in the weeds" with minutia, so to speak, and were tedious to follow.

Chalk up one more print venue falling to the 'net, and a lack of younger shooters to keep the interest alive. You don't see too many youngsters at a benchrest match, and the costs involved for equipment is large, even on the rimfire side.

Update: Just checked their website, and they're indeed defunct. RIP.

I picked up the latest Surplus Firearms at the bookstore today, and the cover noted that it was the final issue. The Editor's column confirmed that it is going bye bye. That's too bad, it had some interesting articles and good photography.
