Some folks feel comforted by carrying different loads for different seasons. Hell, some people even seem to feel comforted by carrying a mix of different loads in the same magazine. Well, sometimes choices may have consequences, and that's something that might be prudent to keep in the back of our minds.
Back when I carried service revolvers and service pistols we used the same ammunition for all seasons. As a much younger cop, who was also a "gun and ammo enthusiast", I was sometimes changing ammo just to experiment with it, or try the newest flavor-of-the-month. (Think the original Glaser, the original Hydra-Shok and Geco BAT loads, and some other frangible or specialty loads as they came along.)
Still have a box (original ammo wallet packaging) of one of them:
I see no reason to change loads with the seasons for my needs, just like I see no reason to "mix" ammo in a magazine, unless, of course, it's done to use up old loads
at the range, or assess feeding and function of a magazine and pistol for range drills.
