Just received an email with this info. There may be other PPC rule changes but this is of interest.

The classification system has been revised.

Rule 19.3(c)

Competitors will be issued one classification card featuring their classification for the revolver, semi-auto pistol and (Stock Duty Handgun) (added).

Stock duty Handgun as defined in rules includes 3.4,3.5, 3.8 & 3.9

3.4 Stock Service Revolver (4in barrel max)

3.5 Off Duty Revolver (2.75 in barrel max)

3.8 Stock Semi Auto (5.5in barrel max)

3.9 Off duty Semi Auto (3.65in barrel max)

Recommended Breakdown for the NEW Stock Duty Gun Classification:

475 to 480--Hi Master
471 to 474--Master
465 to 470--Expert
450 to 464--Sharpshooter
433 to 449--Marksman
432 & below---classified

The Committee also made the decision that while the S&W PPC9 is legal for Open Semi Auto and Distinguished Auto it is not legal for Stock Semi Auto. No reasons given.

The decision on the PPC9 is disappointing to me. I was able to shoot my 5" PPC9 the last two years as a Stock Auto, but now am back to not having a competitive gun. And, there is no way I can afford to buy another. Maybe it's best to put the guns up for good.

Since the move from Jackson, it seems that they are dong everything possible to shut down this competition. Each year the rule changes force more shooters to quit and prevent new one from starting.

The downhill slide began when they chased Patty Zollman out of the NRA. The NPSC has suffered ever since.

some of my local shoots allow civilians and military to compete- this would help. also I personally am a big fan of stock guns- the growing popularity of ipsc production class is a clue- allow civilians to compete and do a production gun only class- this would be a good thing.

Gday folks,
If you open the comp ut to Military, I'm there in a heartbeat.

The Aussie Champs are Police and Military, ex Police ex military etc.

Cheers,

Aussie D

Off duty clarification

Am I reading your post as to say that there is no longer a separate category for "off duty revolver" ? If that is the case, then you just saved me the expense of buying that two and a half inch model 19 that I planned on using in my next off duty match PPC match.

No, I believe nothing has changed there. You can fire either an off duty revolver or an off duty semi auto, but not both. It has been that way for several years.
