I am exploring the idea of building S&W presentation cases, much like the ones sold with the N frame guns in the late 70's early 80's. The wood work I can handle, but I don't have a good idea on how to fix the interior of the box. All ideas are appreciated and do you think there is a market for these cases?

Is there a market for the "N" Frame presentation cases?

In a nutshell...yeah....the Real ones.

I don't know how the heck you would pull off the molded felt.

That being said, sounds like it would cost more than the more desirable original cases that are pretty plentiful on the secondary market.

I think for personal uses it would be fine, but not for profit. Don't think that would end well.

Actually, it's very easy to do.
I've done a few "French" lined cases, you can either have smooth velvet or wrinkled (my preference).
I used a defunct humidor for a pistol, plus it naturally wicks moisture away from the gun.
Here's my late 19th century violin case I repurposed as well.

Those look great I need to get busy and figure out how to do that. I can make them for myself and forget about selling them elsewhere. I love a challenge
