Recently attended the Core Sound Decoy Festival in Harkers Island NC. One of the vendors had some nice handmade jewelry boxes and various other wood crafts. One item was a wooden cradle that held various chisels or knives. It was coated with a feltlike coating. I mentioned S&W presentation cases and the similar flocking that they had. He said it was flocking material he purchases at Hobby Lobby. He said you apply adhesive and sprinkle the flocking on top. I always assumed that most re flocking jobs on presentation cases was done with felt. Has anyone used this type of flocking in a case restoration?

Just found an ad on the Web for "felt flocking". Wikipedia has distinct definitions for both, but I suspect the terms are used interchangeably by many.

Game on.

I've used the flocking in boxes I made and it works good and is easy to use. The only thing is I've heard the flocking can stick to a gun or it's grips if left in the box.
I cut a piece of felt to fit in the bottom so a gun is laying on the felt.
