Price Check on 1911 sc "Billboard"

Local dealer has a 1911sc "Billboard" on consignment for $899.

I foolishly let an "e" series come and go a couple of years ago and I'd like to sort of replace it.

So....how fair a price might this be?

I've got both a Sig .45 220 and Beretta PX4 .45 I'm not shooting for trade and I still rue the day I sold that Smith.

I could carry it, but have .45 PC Shield, CS45, and 4513TSW which all serve the caliber well for carry in that big bullet flavor.

This is more about my mania for S&W than actual need, so if the price is wrong I won't feel all that bad. (I wasn't looking, I was actually putting a 3904 I had two of up for sale when I saw the 1911. He also has a 952 for $1500 and 945PC for $1700 but those are a bit spendy for my current budget, unless I look to dump a .40 Sig 226 and maybe another pistol.)

I've read nothing but good things about the 1911sc (and the other two Smiths) so if anyone has any comments about the SC please jump in.

The 945 is high but the 952 is pretty fairly priced, assuming it's in good shape.

Serial numbar of the 1911sc is JRE4015; which I guess (?) puts it out of the range for having been worked on/assembled by the PC?

I'll be doing a thorough inspection of it next week, and if I decide not to purchase it I can supply the name of the LGS if someone wants to PM me about it or the other two pistols. The owner is a good guy and shipping isn't a problem.

Good price imo, too.
I have the "E" Series commander plus the highly sought after PC scandium carry w/Lighting cuts commander.
The E is $1600 now and the PC is $1700 new, they've gone up.
