Hi all, I've located a nice 66-3 3" and need a price check. Gun is in nice shape (95% or so) with just a mark or two at the muzzle. It is wearing Goodyears however. Price is $550. What say you?

OK price. I recently sold one with box and everything for close to 800.00.

I think that is a good price for a 3". I look at a lot of guns, and I think that I have only seen 1 in a couple of years.

I looked and looked for one and kept an eye on the prices. They generally go for a lot of money. I lucked out and finally found one NIB for $599. I jumped on it. I think I did exceptionally well. Most go for $750+ and I have seen many at $900 with box and docs.

I can't believe what I'm hearing. A 66 going for $750 and up???
Ias this because it is a 3" or are all 66's going for that?

John

IIRC, only 2500 of the 3" 66's were produced. I likely could have asked (& got) more for the one I sold, but why? Yeah, I'm a bit odd....

Anybody cares,

Chuck's in Atlanta has a 66 3-inch. It seemed pristine, perhaps even unused wtih combat finger grooved S&W grips, $650.

No I didn't check about box, etc. I saw it Saturday, March 21.

WOW.

Did SW stop making the 3" guns?

66's were selling new for like $600 out here.

Well, I picked it up! This gun has a bit of history for you old timers here on the forum. This gun belonged to forum member Sebago Son and he traded it to forum member Gizamo for a 17-1. Giz had the gun for a couple of years, and now another Maine S&W collector has it...me. I can't wait to see how it shoots. Should make a good mate to my 2 1/2" 66-2 once I dig through the wood pile for some proper stocks.

Great gun - with some interesting history. Heck, I remember those guys (with a smile). I'd pay what you did for that gun if I had the chance.

Thanks for the picture and enjoy!

Jerry

That is a pretty cool story.

I purposely put a pretty high (I thought) buy now price on the one I sold, thinking, Naw, no one would bite.

It's not a good idea to bluff on Gunbroker, someone will call....

Congrats on a sweet sixgun!

Very nice, congrats!

The 3" 66 is one of my favorite sixguns. Regards 18DAI.

Ahhhh ha! So thats why I haven't heard from you Cush, your off with a new toy.

I might have some stocks for it, but you'd have to send it down here for me to put them on!!!

Great price IMO. Paid 275.00 for my -2 Ashland 3" in 85 and is the best money I've spent on ANY gun in my safe. If your's is like mine you'll find a 12" plate is not safe at 100 yds. Congrats on a fantastic revolver! Slapped a set of Ahrends Boot Grips on mine. Great for CC.
