Can anyone give me an idea of what a 627 in 38 super might be worth? I checked Gun Broker and found nothing.

I have a friend who has one and rarely shoots it. He is primarily a Colt man. I want to approach him with a fair offer so that he might consider selling it.

I have a 627-4 38 super I bought from a friend. I know new they were over $1000. I paid $800 and was happy to pay that. I have seen very few on GB most have went $1200 or more. I don't know how many they made but it wasn't a lot. I love mine and I will probably never part with it.

The only one I've seen for sale was at a gun show a couple years ago. Asking price was $900; should have bought it but didn't. Good luck.

I have one I bought third or fourth hand from local buddies. The problem with these guns is often VERY sticky extraction of fired cases loaded in full moon clips. I have never tried to fire cartridges w/o moons. The solution we discovered is to use 38 Short Colt handloads in the gun. They extract perfectly.

Price on these scarce guns is based purely on how bad you want it and how bad the seller wants out!
