I have not found any information on a recent sale of a Model 65-1 NIB with papers either on the Forum or at Gunbrokers.

Unfired, unturned, box excellent-something for a collector.

Would $600 be a fair price?

Thanks

Ron

I think that is a good price.

The 65 does not seem to be as popular as the 66, but people who have those fixed sight revolvers swear by them.

It's got the box, papers, and is in good shape.

To me, it's worth the money if it really is as you have described it.

They just don't make them like that anymore, and look at it this way, could you get a brand spanking new S&W .357 for $600?

I think it s a pretty good buy.

Thanks for the help.
I have 3 Model 66-1's as well, but I would guess more information is available to set prices on these.

If the 65 is truly as described, I'd have zero issues spending $600 (and even a little more) were I a collector, and I think the market would easily bear it, too.

One question: if we're discussing the 65 in the picture (upper left), that model usually shipped with magnas, not target grips; if the purpose of the purchase is an as new, factory original 65 for collecting, might want to find out about those grips first.

Hapworth:

Good eyes.

I bought the gun new about 35 years ago.
I have a interested buyer who yesterday asked about the grips because they covering up the logo on the right side of the gun.
In looking at my original receipt I see that it notes that I purchased target grips with the gun.
I'll have to see if they gave me the stock grips and if I still have them.

Thanks

Ron
