My FFL enabler just got in a small estate and one pistol he gave me a heads up on was a very clean no dash .38 model 60 with a three letter prefix serial so sometime in the 80’s I’m guessing.
Come with paperwork and a nice leather holster (He didn’t mention who made it).
He said it looks like new - it was fired but not much.

No box just the original paperwork and holster

OTD he is asking for $450

Thoughts?

I’ll see it this evening and can grab some more details.

UPDATE My FFL had the guy come over so we can look at the 60. That “clean” model 60 was all marked up and had chips all over the stocks plus it was bone dry with a lousy trigger. It did come with an Alessi ankle holster but I passed. Top strap had some minor rust and so did the side plate. What a joke how some people believe they have a pristine gun when it had obvious wear.

My FFL was pissed. He knew the guy so took him at his word but lesson learned. On the bright side he did sell me a cheap Lobo j frame holster for $5!

Nice price for sure!!

I sold my Model 60 no dash, 3 alpha serial number more than 5 years ago on this Forum for $550 shipped and insured so I would say your OTD price is very good at this time.

Mine was not sold with a holster but just maybe your leather holster may turn out to have been made actually by Smith & Wesson in their Lillington, North Carolina leather goods factory back when.....like mine pictured below.

I would say you may need to run, or at least trot quickly to your LGS.:D

It’s a very good price. They were quite a bit higher during and just after COVID but have trended downward since then.

I would imagine if he's a friend that would call you with a heads up on a gun, you could have him hold it till you get over there this evening. If you don't like it I'm sure it would sell on here for the amount you've got into it.
Good luck with your decision.
