OK, got my brother in law here enjoying Easter brunch. The conversation turns to my pistols, then to his old guns, he wants to know what their worth. I gave him my blue book and he looks stuff up, "asks me how do you tell the difference between good very good and fine???. Dont know says I ". I "binged" old gun values but didnt get any firm appraisal sites.
Any body know where we can look??

If you have a "blue book" I think it has a section at the front that explains the different condition levels used for the values shown in the book. The book values may not be accurate, however, as prices tend to be localized and also depend on the demand for a certain model, etc.
