Thank you! I just ordered some. A pleasant surprise is they had a code for waiving the haz mat fee.

Still no large rifle primers but for the bench rest primers which are expensive. ($160/k)
LOcal shop had plenty of stock yesterday at $109 plus tax.

I just did the math on it. With tax and hazmat, it comes to $506.05 for a case of 5K LPP; take away hazmat, and it's still $483.06. I paid $400 for a case of SPP at the Lakeland show in January and LPP were available also, but didn't need them as much as the SPP. They'll be available at that price again, so I'll wait.

Buy what you absolutely need, wait to stock up. We need to put pressure on manufacturers and retailers to lower prices. These primers are showing up as ammo makers slow buying. We need to react calmly, even though we all need 1000's!

Scheels in Rapid City had Winchester SPP today for $79.99 per 1,000. Had Cheddite 209 shotgun primers for $69.99 per 1,000. I think the LRP were $89.99. Seems like every month or two at Scheels, the prices are dropping $2-$3 per thousand. I hope it keeps going like that and maybe other companies follow along. Didn't need any, but there appeared to be plenty.

Is there one size that's in more demand? I'm willing to trade some large or small pistol primers for some large rifle primers - but are LR's the hardest to find?

Heck I did that 15 years ago. I could feed me and mine that way. I even make my own equipment, right down to the string.

I'd be happy to pay that here in middle Georgia. Primers are still made from "unobtanium" around here.

These days EVERYTHING is out of control - not just primers! Look at housing prices, car prices, food prices..... Why would anyone expect goods of every form and nature to rise in price and to have primers stay the same?
There are many factors as to why primers have gotten to triple the price they were only a few years back. They include but are not limited to inflation, the new price of gas and oil, new minimum wages, higher insurance costs, supply and demand, shipping company rules and pricing, and political.
I can't tell you that primers may not fall a little over the next year but I can tell you we will never again see primers sell for $27- $30 per brick again! At 69 years old I choose to keep on shooting and enjoying our hobby as I don't know how long I will live too. Thankfully I bought what I needed when the price was $35 - $50 bucks so I am in good shape, however a few told me I was nuts to pay $50/brick then!
Your money - your choices, but why not just enjoy yourself instead of punishing yourself as long as they prices of primers are at least still somewhat affordable. Yes - now about triple the price but again, so is everything else! Bullets, powder, reloading tools etc. are not the same as they were either. A tough pill to swallow, however punishing oneself isn't the answer either IMHO.

I broke down and got 1000 SPP for $136 from Brownell's because I have lots of .38 and .40 bullets, lots of powder, and I haven't seen primers for years.
Don't know if prices and availability are going to go up or down in these uncertain times, but I got tired of waiting.
As far as SRP's go...forget it, I gave up and got 500 already reloaded 5.56 rounds.
Wont be doing any more of that until things change for the better around here, but at least I have added to my ammo stash.

Yea during that '94 (so called) assault weapons ban, 22LR dried up almost to the same extent as primers are now.
When that baloney ended, I went out and got an AR, a CMMG conversion unit, and lots of .22LR ammo!
And of course it never occurred to me to stock up on primers.

I attended a small gunshow here in Memphis about a month ago - there were multiple vendors selling primers at $110 to $125 per brick.
I visited one of my favorite toy stores yesterday and they had a bunch of all primers of all sizes (CCI & Federal) - at $17.50 per hundred! The owner asked if I needed any - for some reason he didn't appreciate my chuckling response of "No thanks."
Sure am glad I learned from the component/primer drought during the dark days of William & Hilary.

Being a borderline curmudgeon, I have eschewed paying admission in order to be gouged. That shop owner you mention is certainly optimistic!
