primers

Just finished of a box of 1000 CCI small pistol primers I bought in 1986 for 12.95 cents at the Gun Exchange in San Francisco (not a discount store by any means) For fun I used an inflation calculator and figured out what the current cost would be factoring in inflation and got a price of 25.10 cents. Anyway the primer situation is interesting, I would not be supprised to see prices drop in the future when the speculators all decide to cash in at the same time, kind of like realestate.

Did all my stocking up last Sept and Oct. Once I knew who the candidates were, I figured it would come to this. Man, I hate being right all the time.......(about shortages of ammo and components, at any rate).

Not to hack on you, but doing that only fuels the fire of the opportunistic bastards thata are buying supplies & reselling them on GB. Place an order w/ Cabela's or Graf's or PV, Natchez, whoever & stop paying upwards of $94/1K on GB. This all will end sooner if people stop panic buying.
I just got 5K CCISP shipped from a Graf's order the end of March, so primers are getting through. BE patient. I would not shoot before I payed scalpers prices on components.

I started buying primers before all of this panic buying took place. Here's a selection of the primers I've come across.

I walked into the local shop today, which I hate because of their high prices and lousy attitudes. My son asked if they had any small pistol primers, the reply was "yup, Federals, $3.95 a box of 100 or $40.00 a brick".

I have a few primers, plenty enough for as much shooting as I've done in the last couple of years, which was none. I am planning on going out this year though, which I did the last couple too. Even if I don't have enough primers I have enough ammo loaded up right not to start my own war.

There was a major primer shortage a number of years ago, pretty much like we have now, does anyone remember the year? I'm pretty sure it was in the '90s sometime.
