privi partisan .38Special SWCHP info?

This was mentioned in another thread. I didn't know about it. Anyone have any, is the lead soft or hard? How about chrono info? I would appreciate all info, THANKS.....

I posted about it. The Privi 158 gr SWC lists a MV of 900 fps. I have a case of it and the 158gr SWCHP, and when shot in a mixed cylinder, non scientific comparison is they both move at the same speed. Full power, loaded to Euro Spec, non+P levels. I use it exclusively lately and I have all kind of .38spl SD ammo.

How hard does the lead seem to be. The real difference in RP and WW is the lead hardness.......

Thank you for both of your replies. I have shot a good bit of PPU 158gr RN and have reloaded some of the brass. It is pretty thick, like USGI it loads very well. Last year they came out with their SWC and I ordered 1,000 rnds before sales tax on the internet. I was surprised when you posted about the SWCHP. I may order some in the near future. Again, THANX for the info.........

I picked up 1k of the Privi .38 spl 158 SWCs a couple months ago mostly for plinking with my .357s and .38s. (PPH38SS).

It is also part of my SHTF stash, as at 902 fps at 25 yds and that bullet, it will euthanize most small to medium game and any 2-legged varmints that choose to challenge it.

I was disappointed to see that "Gun Sam" on you tube posted a test of this ammo and it only went 754fps in a 5 shot chrono test in a 2" barrel and failed to expand in a water jug test. It did penetrate well and happened to tumble.....
