I saw a Pro Series Model 60 in a local gunshop for $600 yesterday. And as much as I dislike the LOCK I really liked this revolver. Does anyone here have any experience with one?

No experience with that one but I bought the 60-4, and then later, the 60-10 (both have the Python-style barrel). I think very highly of them. They make for a very handy package and are more versatile than a standard gun with fixed sights. If you like the loopy styling of the modern guns, it would probably be a good one.

I liked the look at first too but after a while of thinking about buying I decided I like the "classic" look of smiths better but hey a 3" J frame is a pretty good all around gun. The wood grips on it are the nicest modern wood grips I've seen and I've even thought about buying just the grips and putting them on a normal model 60. $600 is a little steep for that gun as I've seen it for $480 in a couple shops. I have heard that some people dont like the finish on the gun but cant remember why??

The Model 60 Pro is a fine shooter. It is well-balanced and has a pretty smooth action from the box. I did find the Meprolight front-sight a bit dim and will look at switching it out for the XS Sight Regular-Dot soon. I like the white-outline ring of the XS. The 3-inch barrel makes it one of my favorites. The ergonomics of the grips are outstanding. I paid $545 here six-months ago. Don't forget that the "Plug" is available......

I also really liked the Model 60 Pro and bought one last Monday. The fit and finish is outstanding. I really like the finish, but will have to wait a few years to see how it holds up. As others have said, I like the ergonomics...best I have seen on any new revolver and the 3" barrel makes it a real "multi-purpose" handgun. I Haven't shot it yet, but the action is very nice. $600 would be a good price...that is what I paid. I have never seen the Pro Model for anywhere near $480 that one poster reported. Bud's sell them for $617. Unfortunately, I won't be able to shoot it until this weekend, but will report back next week.

Good luck on your decision and I'm sure more Model 60 Pro users will chime in soon.

I had limited experience with it, but did put "several" cylinderfulls of fullhouse 357's through one about a year ago and it was not uncomfortable. The redesigned grips and weighted barrel kept recoil very manageable. I liked it.

Groo here
I have one and although I like the grips looks with mags they
hit me just wrong [ bump on inner of thumb from too many Mags!]
I will be changing out to Pacs soon.
Otherwise the gun is very nice

bought a 60-15 3" a few weeks ago and have no complaints. relatively comfortable with full loads.
S&W has a $50.00 rebate on the 60's until the end of the year,,(and a few other carry guns)
