First of all, howdy Smith peeps..

I just picked up at a local gun show a Smith Wesson M&P Performance Center C.O.R.E. ported 40 long slide.

Traded a basic 9mm Gen 1 full size for it. Guess .40 is dead.. Guy wanted my 9mm and I wanted this .40

It's like new condition, came with 6 mags and not one flaw on it. I took the trade and ran like Forrest Gump..

So .. it has CORE plate.. but the screws are really on there..
what size allen key is used to take them off? if and when I'm ready. ?

Also.. love the trigger and trigger stop.. so just going to add APEX ram kit to it for the audible reset.

Can anyone suggest any other things to look out for? Thank you.

I picked up a 1.0 in 40 cal. Really happy I put the APEX kit in it. Like shooting 40 better than 45.

Look to see if it has the updated slide stop with the bump. This made more of a reset feel on all my gen 1's than the RAM did. A Combo of both is nice.

None of my gen 1 pro/core models had the updated SS, only the updated H trigger bar.

The allen size is 5/64 but use a quality tool like a socket head or 1/4" drive hardend tip . Avoid the bargin allen's as the can or will strip or twist when its that small . A few light taps with a small brass hammer can help to loosen to .

You might change the stock striker block to a apex model . That may smooth and lighten your pull enough . The ram is not really needed . I have a CORE with a ram along added and a 40 with thumb safety that can't use a ram and both have a good forward reset .
