I'd like 4 kinds of ammo for my 357 TRR8...

1 - SD/HD 357
2 - SD/HD 38+p
3 - plinking 357
4 - plinking 38+p

I am not a reloader but I want to keep cost down... I don't mind spending $1/rd for the defense ammo, but what can I do for fun lead?

What has your experience been with low velocity defense ammo? suggested brands?

There are several good choices in self defense ammo; I happen to use Speer Gold Dots or Rem Golden Saber depending on availability.

Some of the local departments use Precision Delta remanufactured ammo for practice. The Blazer is good and deals can be found.

I like to keep the bullet wieghts about the same to avoid POI issues.

For .38/.357s, reloading is more of a savings than, say, 9mm practice ammo, and isn't all that difficult if you can follow instructions carefully.

Georgia Arms. Quality new and remanufactured ammo. From what I understand all the law enforcement and corrections agencies in Georgia, use their ammo.Myself and others on this forum have purchased from them, and have been very satisfied. The inventory changes often

Before I returned to reloading I bought several cases of PMC .38 FMJ from TheArmoury. Cost was $ 249.00 per case (1000), plus S&H for a total of $ 275.00. Good target/plinking ammo, no FTF, and I'm reloading the brass. I never found .38 ammo cheaper (same ammo at Cabelas is $ 19.95).
