I have a Shield 45 that's about 3 years old and fired about 2000 times. After the last cleaning I absolutely could not get the slide to lock back so I could rotate the slide lock lever. I tried with a mag inserted ,without mag, etc.. The slide stop seems like it doesn't want to move when the slide is pulled back. Any ideas?

So if I understand you correctly, the slide lock lever is in the down position.
Take the slide off and check to be sure your recoil spring assembly is in the correct position. If it is not, you won’t be able to get the slide all the way back for the slide stop lever to engage.
Also check to see with the slide off, that the spring was not accidentally disconnected.
With the slide off, the slide stop lever should, when pushed should have a spring action.

Just to clarify, you can pull the slide back far enough for the slide catch to align with the slot, but the catch won't move? OR, you can pull the slide back but not far enough to align the catch and slot?

I can pull the slide back and align the notch but the catch doesn't move, when it does it doesn't catch.

The slide lock lever is rotated fully down I can pull the slide back and line up the notches but the stop catch doesn't always move and when it does it does not lock the slide in place.
