Problem w/MP15-22 Bolt Catch

Ok, with 25k rounds this is my first issues with my MP15-22, after last round bolt stays open but too much will not release when you push on bolt catch, stuck won't move need to pull back on charging handle to release bolt. whats up? Need help guys.Thank you. If you pull back on charging handle with an empty mag bolt catch will work, only when last round shot open to point can't push on bolt catch.

This thread sounds like your issue. I have never had that issue. It may need to go back to S&W.

Sounds like a burr on the bolt catch where it contacts the bolt or the catch itself is binding in its slot. Try removing and cleaning the bolt catch and spring and look for wear marks.

Looks like there is a nick at the divider. Call up S&W, ask for an RMA, and send it back. You'll probably get a new bolt. I know I did..

Bolt catch problem

I took these photos to let others know that this may be part of the problem related to the bolt catch jamming after last round fired. Problem does not occur when manually operating the system, (maybe because energy is different from actual blowback) .
