I have a M&P 9mm semi auto pistol. Got it earlier this year. I notices the other day that the white paint dot on the site at the end of the barrel has come off. I'm not sure how it did. Anyone have any advice on what I should do?

Go to the hardware store and purchase two bottles of Krylon Short Cuts Brush On paint, one Gloss White and the other Glow Orange.

Clean out the dimple in your sight real good using acetone, let dry, then using a toothpick apply first the white and then the orange paint. Let the white completely dry before applying the orange.

Better than new for only a few bucks. :D

Do a search, and unfortunately you will find this is one of the most common problems with all the M&P's. You are not alone!

Go with the tritium!!

I never had the problems of losing the white dot, but I did replace my factory sights with Trijicon Night Sights. I have never had a second thought about that white sight since!!!

GO WITH THE TRITIUM, DUDE!!!;)

If you choose to go the paint route, use day glow yellow. It works the best for nearly all lighting conditions. Day glow green is good, too!

With the paint option does it give it a glow to be able to see in the dark? I have a full size M&P 9mm and Shield 9mm. Any recommendations for a good set of night sites that aren't to ridiculous in price?

Or, go to the hobby section and buy some glow in the dark paint in the color of your choice and make your own "redneck" night sights.

Normal. This is GOD's way of telling you to put NS's on a defensive weapon!

The standard S&W Tritium sights I have on my 3 M&P's are visible easily from 20 feet away....If I hung all 3 guns side by side I could probably read by em in a pitch black room!....I have truly crappy eyesight and wear glasses and I can see em from a dozen feet with 20-80 vision! without the glasses! LOL!

S&W originals are fine by me!

I did it to my Shield, went to the hobby store. Used tooth pick, works great, and easy to aim.

I used to paint my dots while saving money for getting my TFOs. Now my 2 M&Ps have them and the difference is like night and day.

I love the TFO's also but on wifes gun used some GLOW-ON sight paint have ave since pained the gohost rings on shotguns and AR's Front sight on AK's. Stuff is actualy pretty darn good. Not as bright as TFO's but bright enough and it was like 10 bucks though and have used it on 7 weapons.
