This is one I can't figure out. I replaced the recoil spring and now when cycling the slide manually on a loaded clip the round in the barrel will not fully extract because its hitting the next round in the clip. The only way I can get the round out fully is dropping the clip. It even does the same thing with the old recoil spring. I have five clips and they are all doing the same thing. It appears the next round is blocking the extraction. I have yet to fire a live round afraid something might break.

I am not familiar with the M52 but since you have not had this problem prior to the spring replacement and the problem continues when the original is put back, I would guess that either something fell out, broke or is in incorrectly assembled.

I would disassemble, recheck all parts for correct fit, positioning and make sure nothing has broken off. It might help to use a magnification lamp.

The only way that can happen in my mind is that the extractor is not fully engaged and pulling the case out of the barrel all the way, maybe grips it and releases too soon or has not griped it at all.

The slide covers the rounds in the magazine/ clip to keep them in place until the fired round is totally ejected.

Is the slide closed all the way on the first round.
I am not talking of babying the slide closed, but rack it closed using the momentum of the recoil spring.

A visual...
The second round taken up from the magazine cannot come up until the slide is all the way rear ward and the spent case is ejected.

Just like racking the slide to load the first round out of the magazine.

If the second round is coming up behind the first round already loaded in the barrel, then the extractor is not pulling the first round out of the barrel.

Hope this helps,
Clarence
