When I pull the trigger some of the time the firing pin does not release. If I dry fire it it will do the same but if I tap on the side of the pistol the firing pin will release. Any ideas? I have cleanned it according to the manual that came with it but maybe I am missing something.

Thanks.

Yeah, somethings not right. Send it to S&W, the customer service is excellent.

I'd clean the striker channel to start with. Blow it out with some canned air. You don't say whether this is a new problem, one that has come on gradually, or if you just bought it and it's done this from day one. Is it new or used? These are all things that have to be considered. IMHO it sounds like there is something in the channel that the striker is binding or catching on.

I had a similar problem, sent it to lsg and they installed a new striker assembly.

I bought it new

It has about 2000 rounds through it. andit just happened yesterday. The only good thing is the trigger pull felt so nice when it did not release the re;ease the pin.

give them a call send it to me, seems like you hate it bad? lol, ill take it! still trying to save up to carry two Sigmas laura croft style. send it in for sure, S&W honors just about anything on the Sigma that brakes and thats why this model is so popular and proven and why i want two.

Thanks

but it did not help so I am going to send it back once they are back from vacation.

Great work

Just got it back from Smith and the trigger is so much better than it was when it was brand new.

I will try and remember to look it up and post it.

I sent mine in for a striker problem and they must have polished the trigger mechanisms in mine as well. It doesn't make it any lighter, but it is a lot smoother.
