production date?

One I have had for years, a pinned and recessed 29-2 with serial # starting with N xxxxxx
and in the crane H15 and the #s 39xxx

and another probably much later model 629-1 with s# AJF xxxx

The folks in the know will probably need at least the first three numbers after the "N" ie: N123XXX to nail down an approximate shipping date. And pictures are always appreciated and helpful here.

Agree with the message above.

Prefix AJF appears to be from the summer-fall of 1986.

N xxxxxx is from 19xx to 19xx.

Welcome to the Forum! As stated above, we need a few more numbers of the serial number to date your 29-2. N-prefix s/n's began in 1969 and ran until 1986, so yours is somewhere in between. The other numbers you included are just assembly or inspection numbers and are relatively meaningless. We also like to see pictures, so if you can post a couple that would be great.

ok, N363136 I'll have figure out how to post a pic. It came with cleaning tools and a wooden case. The fitted card in the case gave up the ghost and I bought a foam interior for it.
