Proof of Ammo Shortage

I started reloading in 1972 and casting my own bullets in 1973. I continue to make my own handgun ammo in most popular calibers for +/- $3 per box of 50, and most calibers are loaded in lots of 500 to 1000 at a time.

I pay 3 to 4 times as much for primers and powder today as I did 40 years ago, but I stock up when supplies are available at reasonable prices and I will continue to do so.

Those who rely on retail supplies are much more likely than me to be disappointed or ripped off.

I'm in south Louisiana and the stores that carry guns and ammo, prices are UP and supply is way down. For both guns and ammo.

As for "events", I've had several in my city, mostly civil and peaceful. There's been more in New Orleans, ditto. People mostly avoided each other. Things got testy in Mobile, and Atlanta has been a mess.
For awhile, Nola was banning internet ammo purchases, but I believe the governor declared that to be illegal.

In my area(SW OHIO) its static, but by no means "good." Shops are still getting ammo. They post it on Facebook, etc and its gone in a day. But, they get more the next week or 2. Repeat. What sucks is pricing. 3-4 months ago I was buying .223 at Bass Pro Shops for $6/box and 9mm for $10. Now its $10+ and 14+. I got plenty and don't need more THAT bad.
