Just recently obtain this gun Police Positive special from J&G Guns in AZ....after repairing and giving it a good cleaning fround some proof marks on the lower right side of frame..Left side has all the normal Colt inspector marks/numbers/letters...I have two books on gun marks and these do not appear, out of the 27 Police Positives and Police Positive Specials in my collection it appears that most of the ones which saw service outside the US had stampings on the right side ...can anyone give me their remarks or knowledge on possibly these acceptance marks; would think these possibly would show up on Smith also....Thanks
