I am just curious if any can advice on the proper oiling/lubing of a 6946? I have been using Hoppes Gun Oil on the rails, and RemOil with Teflon on the innerds. I would spray everything on the inside then blow it dry with compressed air. Then Hoppes Gun Pil on the rails and wiped the exterior down with Hoppes Gun Oil. Been doing this for years with good luck. The last time I tried something different. I used Gun Slick grease on the rails. I am just curious if anyone else has used Gun Slick and what you think of it? Any advice on where to oil/lube on the 6946? Also, for this is my carry gun, so curious if oil or grease is better? THANK YOU for any tips!

Grease on the slide rails makes it very slick. I use oil as well, but the slide rails gets a dab of grease spread over them. Grease doesn't evaporate like oil does.

On a carry gun that doesn't get shot much, Hoppe's dry spray lube works well and doesn't attract fuzz. Most everyone here is still looking for their miracle lube. If the gun is cleaned regularly, any lube will do a good job. If the gun is shot alot every time it's out, some lubes are better. Grease will stay in place and not run out, so of the wet lubes it is probably best for rails. I use the dry-lube, lint will not stick to it.
