Here is yet another knee jerk proposal coming to the Minnesota legislature authored by Linda Slocum, a retired Minneapolis school teacher:

•Expand the definition of an “assault weapon” to include many semiautomatic pistols, rifles or shotguns and makes possessing them a felony, with the exception of some that were legally registered before February 2018. Those owning a grandfathered assault weapon must undergo a background check, renew their registration annually, and use them only on their property or at a shooting range. Such weapons could not be sold or transferred, only surrendered to law enforcement for destruction.
•Ban private gun sales, or the transfer of firearms between family members or through inheritance; all sales and transfers could only go through licensed dealers. Such sales and transfers would have a two-day waiting period. A record of all gun transfers would be filed with the county.
•Make possessing bump stocks, silencers and many “large capacity” magazines — which hold more than ten rounds — a felony.
•Require all ammunition to be purchased from a licensed dealer, and require a record of all sales for three years.
•Make it illegal for people who owe court-ordered child support to own firearms.

There was an article on whatfinger.com a few days ago which stated Minnesota has a very low crime rate due to the high amount of legal firearm owners. I guess this dope wants to bring more crime to their state.

IMO: The biggest danger in the above proposal is universal background checks. Over time virtually all firearms would be registered which is the penultimate goal of the anti's. If the government knows who owns firearms and where they are confiscation , which is the ultimate goal, becomes easy.

The Twin Cities, Bloomington and Rochester basically run the state. I am convinced that their water supply is infused with Kool-Aid. I would speculate that it is probably lime flavored to disguise the psychotropics.

Over all, the rest of the state is fairly normal when it comes to 2A Rights... even if they are Vikings fans. :D

The bill is HF 3022.

Minnesota members and others interested may view the bill by clicking here.

The bill was introduced on February 26, and was referred to the committee on Public Safety and Security Policy and Finance.

Other Minnesota firearms bills to keep an eye on are HF 1605 and HF 1669.

Personally, I'd give HF 3022 zero chance of becoming law. It's my belief that Linda Slocum created this ridiculous ban-everything bill in hopes of getting some of it through the legislature so she can claim a "victory" in the gun rights war.

One of my nits when I see posts like this notifying of us of proposed legislation:

They are constantly called fools, morons, ignorant, or something similar. They are none of those. They are highly intelligent people with their own personal opinions. They know perfectly well the facts of the situation. They also know how to take advantage of current events to push their agendas.

They are simply evil people who have nothing but contempt for our individuality, personal liberty, limited government, and refuse to acknowledge their power comes from our consent.

Simply throwing out "Moron!" greatly underestimates their intelligence and resolve.

Johngalt hit it on the head. Don't underestimate these people. They are cunning, crafty, vengeful, articulate, and possess many skills that can hurt us.
