If you are having trouble getting into your webmail, my advice is to wait a day or two. They are "improving" the service, and as a result their webmail login will accept your password, but doesn't send you to your webmail.

I have just had a "chat" session with a tech with the resultS

1) I have lost a perfectly good password

2) I still have no email access.:mad::mad::mad:

DON'T GET IN TOUCH FOR THEM TO "FIX" IT UNTIL YOU ARE CERTAIN IT'S PERMANENTLY BROKEN. THEY WILL TRASH YOUR EXISTING PASSWORD AND YOU STILL WON'T HAVE EMAIL.

They've been improving here for over a week. I just wish they would hurry up and finish. The home page keeps showing my location as Atlanta and no matter how many times I change it it still says Atlanta every time I log on. At least my email is working...

I keep getting a type in password page from them for months. It doesn't matter if you do this once or a hundred times it keep coming back and asking for it again. Telling COX about this gets you nowhere!

Steve: We have Cox cable and internet and Cox never mentioned a email service. Is this an extra added cost like all services ??

No it is included. I think you can also have a web page and several email acc'ts.
The trouble with cox email is well known and has been ongoing for
several months now.
I used to use the cox email but had trouble with it for quite a while
so I switched to Thunderbird. Free from the same company that
does Firefox.(Mozilla)
I recommend everyone switches to Tbird. It is a full featured program
that also has a calendar function and task management.
Cox customer service will help you do so.

I now have a workaround, but only because I have another email address in their system. If I login then out again on that account, I can then login to my primary. Details for those still awake:-

It seems that Cox has two email systems, East and West. My primary wants to go to the West system that appears to be down. My secondary rerouted to the East system and works. Weird thing is that even if I directly address the East system in Explorer, it still falls over trying to get to the West. Yes, I cleared cookies, history, stood on one leg and pledged allegiance to the neighbor's cat, all to no avail.

The workaround seems fine on Firefox and Chrome. OCCASIONALLY I get instant access, but then the directing gnomes get confused and can't find my primary account anymore without first visiting the secondary.

I think Microsoft (Outlook) and Google (Gmail) do a better job of managing email servers than your typical internet service provider. When my ISP started screwing around with their email system, I switched to Outlook.
