Recently I've found myself really parinoid using the urinals in public restrooms. I feel really vulnerable concerning someone grabing my handgun in such a '' open'' position. Call me crazy but I now will only use a stall. Your guys thoughts?

Most people are terrified of guns. Making a grab like that highly unlikely. Also you could always just turn around and finish your business on the guy. I think he'd freak out and drop the gun.

Agreed. "Concealed carry" means just that. I pocket carry. Anyone making a grab probably wouldn't be going for my J-frame.

Open carry is another whole problem. An effort to seize the weapon could happen anywhere--one of many reasons I don't do it.

I agree with this, I'm not so gimpy that I can't wee standing up so I use the urinal but I pay attention to what's going on around me and my snubby stays concealed.
If it's open carry just make sure to use a holster that locks the gun in place.

I've always gone into a stall when I carry. The biggest problem I have is I don't carry anything smaller than a full frame 1911 and when my belt is down, you can see it under the partition. When I carry a revolver, it's a 27-9 with a 6 inch barrel. I have to bring it forward and inside my pants to make sure that no one sees it hanging off my belt. That would probably create a bigger stink. (Pun intended)

I'm a little confused by your post. Don't your pants have a zipper or buttons in the front? I don't see any need to be de-belting at a urinal!

I believe you are over thinking things a bit... Concealed carry; you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Are you new to CC? If so, you will get more comfortable with things as time goes by.

I have to ask, how many snubbies are you packing? an alternative weapon like a Taco Bell blast keeps anything living well over an arm length from me. did you try distraction? the toe tapping morse code for restrooms or the old line "hey sailor new in town?"come to mind. watch your sixes.

Uh oh. I left out a bit of info there. That's not when I need to do #1. It's the other function I'm talking about, you know, like solid waste. I stand up for #1 and sit down for #2. That's about as forum friendly as I can get.
