Purchased devoted carry piece...strayed

To add, I just got a new scandium 360PD. I have enough metal in and on my belt and it's one of the better choices I've made. All of the J-frame stuff I have works on that firearm, as well.

BTW, word off warning. It says ".357 Magnum" on the box and on the barrel. It must be a misprint, LOL.

Yikes! I fired the carefully researched load, the Speer 125 grain Gold-Dot hollowpoint! I thought the revolver (and my hand) had exploded!

I'm not going to shoot many of those! But it is comforting to know that I am now safe from polar bears, anyone wearing multi-layers of kevlar and armored personnel carriers!

My J Frame Carry setup is a 640-1 in a IWB and a 337 Airlite on the ankle...I load them with the same Hornady 125 gr +P JHP ammo and carry a couple of Speed Strips in pockets. The 640 isn't unpleasant with any .38 Spl ammo but is a handful with .357. I have an old Pachmayer Compact grip that can go on either and greatly improves handling but adds a lot of extra bulk for concealed carry...I don't like pocket carry in a pants pocket so that isn't an issue for me. For a self- defense revolver I see no use and a lot of liabilities for having single action capability and an exposed hammer spur. My 337 has had the spur removed...I think Ruger SP101 or LCR can be very good revolvers and I have a couple of old Colt Agents that work well also...Price is a consideration but when it comes to a tool carried to save your or others' lives, spend the money for a good quality gun and the proper means to carry it...And plenty of ammo and range time. Small, snub revolvers take some time to master...Good Luck

Look at the Ruger LCR! The 642 is a little smaller but the LCR has a better trigger and more comfortable grip ( worth the look). I have both.
