Pushy gun show hucksters?

And then there's Sasaberanger........He will haul guns all over the country to deliver to a buyer or any other thing it takes to make dealing with he and Debbie a pleasant experience.

Heck, he'll (I guess I should say Debbie) will even spring for a strawberry lemonade once in a while.

Thom is a class act.

Strengely enough, white-bearded old men do sometimes buy guns, and often weigh considerably less than 400 pounds. Me, for example, although currently I'm too fiscally anemic to buy anything. Maybe after my car repairs.

Just saying...

Pretty girls in provocative dress? At our gun shows its old guys in questionable flannel that is a little on the tight side and if a button comes loose someone's losing an eye. Some dealers at are shows can be pushy, but that's why you eat beans the night before. With all the people around they never hear anything and when the air clears his customers are all gone and he is left swatting at the swarm of imaginary bees.
The last provocatively dressed female I saw at the gun show was a mannequin wearing camouflage but she was looking my way.

he who has a thing to sell

and goes and whispers in a well

is not so apt to get the dollars

as he who climbs a tree and hollers

400lbs white bearded men wearing suspenders and complaining about lack of isle room with the occasional 600lbs man in the wheel chair.
I resemble that remark!!

Lots of raffle ticket sellers, gun club memberships, we're taking up a collection for..whatever type of people at the shows lately. More than there ever has been.
They bother me when they don't take 'no thanks' for an answer. They really bother me when they stand out in the aisles to confront you with their clip boards and flyers.
One show I go to got enough complaints that they put all those types of tables in one area and actually off of the main show floor somewhat.
Guess how much traffic they get.
Some shows just don't allow them to stand in the aisles to do their work. That's fair enough it seems.

Now if you see a big crowd stopped around a table set up and you can't get by,,it's either just black rifle stuff or a pretty girl being used to draw a crowd,,,or both.

gun shows in my area ( central florida) are just that. a place for dealers/people to show their guns. long time ago could get a deal, find something different. not around here anymore. people selling over priced wares to the un-informed. reason I don't go to them.

An employee at a LGS said there is rumor at the last show, someone was selling 50 round boxes of 22 LR for $70.

Hasn't been rumor here, 2 gun shows back they sold, yes sold for $100 a brick. The last gun show had some for $50.00 per brick.

I find more real vendors and have better luck at the smaller town shows.

Here it is hard to get the attention of vendors at gunshows. The NRA convention was refreshing having aggressive reps (and show bimbos) asking if you have any questions.

Sounds as if gun shows in your area are borrowing ideas from industrial trade shows, which can't be a good thing in my opinion.

I'm no longer able to attend the shows here, as I can't do the walking I used to do. At the big ones in Louisville you may have to park what feels like two counties away, before you begin to walk the aisles. But the last time I went to one I didn't see what you are reporting. Certainly no sexy hucksteresses (a word I just made up) or recruiters for organizations.

I know exactly what you mean about the parking situation at the Louisville shows. There's just not enough handicapped parking there.

I also didn't have a problem with any of the dealers at the show. When I asked questions, I always got courteous answers and if they didn't know the answer, they set me to a table where they did know. The only reason I didn't like the show was because there were just too many dealers to see and too many people squeezed in there. Still, I got a kick out of seeing the collectible firearms.

SHOWS-

Been enjoying some shows of late, just never know what you will find. :) I enjoy asking the price of some unmarked 22 ammo and then laugh in their face when they say $40.00 for some Federal 22's. It relly P--s-- them off. :)

Usually down here it is the same overpriced stuff from the last 16 gunshows, crowded aisles, can't get to see what's on the tables, very few mil surps in nice condition and crummy lighting. Frank

I was snubbed by a vendor once when I asked if I could see a S&W revolver that he had on the table. He looked at me, then turned his attention to a man nearby who didn't even seem very interested in his wares. I said to the air "I guess women's money isn't green enough for you". As I started to leave another man tapped me on the shoulder and asked if I'd like to see an identical gun. I said I would, and the gentleman pulled it of his bag out and sold it to me right in front of the angry looking vendor.

I can remember what to do with a firearm. The young fancy ladies not sure I know how to use one of them!!!!!!

I know I’m dating myself, but I remember when gun shows were displays first, a chance to smooz second, and a sales venue lastly. Venders and attendees for the most part were fun people to spend time with.

Way back when you were lucky if you could find a soda machine, much less numinous venders selling overpriced low quality empty calories.

As for eye candy you the old shows were an excuse to spend some quality time with the “boys.”

I no longer attend many gun shows any more as I don’t think they are as much fun as they once were.

The pushy, overbearing, arrogant, aggressive, and insulting ones are certainly present at about every gun show I've ever been to. I don't let them ruin my fun or interfere with what business I'm there to do. If I encounter one like that I just let him have a long good look at my bee-hind as I walk away.

Some people say that life is too short to suffer obnoxious fools like that. I say life is too long for that. I like to focus on the good people in my world.

i dont go to gun shows like i used too, i remember a time when if you looked you could find a deal or two now you cant see for the **** pilled up! when you do find a nice old smith its high as a cats back
