I have a very heavily carried but not much fired mid 80's 10-8. Former cop gun. Shoots great, heavy, reliable, excellent woods and beater gun. I'd like to add a lanyard loop to it so I can carry it when in the woods and not worry about losing it.
I saw that Numrich sells Victory model knock off lanyard loops. Anyone ever installed one of these?
My buddy here is becoming quite the amateur gunsmith and thinks we can do it. We have access to most everything including a drill press. I just don't want to screw anything up and see if anyone has any words of advice.
Thanks.

What ever you do, do not damage the serial number in anyway shape or form. You will be spending the next 10 years in jail.

I believe Hogue makes a grip that the screw at the bottom of the grip is also a lanyard ring. If they don't make it anymore, someone a lot more skilled than I could make one to replace the screw on a regular Hogue grip.
It's a woods and beater gun, but why drill a hole where you don't really need one?

So there's a lanyard ring built into a screw for the Hogue grips?

It came with Pachmyr Presentation grips so I'm unfamiliar with Hogues. Have to check that out.
