Q to 38/44 HD collectors - variations list

Idly thinking here.

If we eliminate the custom orders, what are the main 38/44 HD variations? (I am skipping blued vs. nickeled for ease of description.)

I would have said:

38/44 HD Prewar
4" service grip
5" service grip
6.5" service grip
4" magna grip
5" magna grip
6.5" magna grip
4" HBH Magna grip
5" HBH magna grip
6.5" HBH magna grip

38/44 HD Transition
4" Magna grip
5" Magna Grip
6.5" Magna Grip

38/44 HD model of 1950 Post-war
4" Magna grip
5" Magna Grip
6.5" Magna Grip

Model 20 4"
Model 20 5" (?)
Model 20-2 4"
Model 20-2 5" (?)

If we add in the custom ones:
38/44 HD Post-war 4" Light Lug
38/44 HD Pre-war 45 colts
38/44 HD Pre-war Light Frame (experimental)
38/44 HD Pre-war Police Target
38/44 HD Pre-war 5" with Lanyard grip


What am I missing?

Pete,
There is a MOD 20 6.5". No 20-2 5" known. Light Lug is 4" Post War 1950 model. 45 colts are Pre War. Light Frame is post war, 1950 model. You probably could have gotten a 4 or 6.5" with lanyard ring if that is what you wanted. I would change the 38/44 HD Post-war to 38/44 HD 1950 Model since technically, the Transitons are post war. No known 6.5 Nickel Pre wars. No known 5 or 6.5" Transition Nickel, although I have a maroon box for a 5" nickel.

Sorry for the mix up on the 45 colts. I knew they were pre-war but just made a mistake while typing.

So a Model 20 6.5

I corrected my post but have to run again.
